Day 34: 4.01 miles today, Miles to go: 744.61… Four mile walk to end my evening. Long day with everything from schoolwork, to SMILE stuff, to Junior League recruitment items, to quite a bit of State Farm customer service. So glad to be home and near ready to head to bed. Today I thought I would touch on the subject of walking/running for stress relief/stress management, since that was more or less the intent of tonight’s walk in relation to my stress level on my current research project and paper. The Mayo Clinic shares, “Exercise in almost any form can act as a stress reliever. Being active can boost your feel-good endorphins and distract you from daily worries.” Their full “Exercise and stress: Get moving to manage stress” article can be found at: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/exercise-and-stress/SR00036 . Runners’ World also offers tips on how to run safely while you are stress managing… a.k.a. already tense to start out with (yes… you can actually injure yourself if you are not careful) at: http://www.runnersworld.com/running-tips/stress-trap. So go on out there and work on feeling better with those “Feel-good endorphins.” I promise that they are so much more rewarding than any carbohydrate (such as chips or cookies) in the grander scheme of things!
